from M42

At the M42 J9 roundabout, take the exit onto Kingsbury Rd/A4097 Sutton Coldfield/Minworth/Curdworth, stay on A4097 for 2.5 miles.
Then the Minworth Island roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Walmley Ash Road.
The next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Forge Lane.
Take second left into Fulford Drive and then make first left into Stockton Close.
Smart Midlands Expressway Hub is immediate second and third units on left-hand side of Stockton Close.

from M6 North

From junction 6, take the A38 exit to Lichfield.
At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Tyburn Road/A38 follow for 2 miles.
Turn right onto Kingsbury Road/A38 for 1.9 miles.
Go through 1 roundabout.
Keep left at the fork.
At the Minworth Island roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Walmley Ash Road.
For final directions follow as for given for the M42 (above).

from M6 South

Junction 5, take the A452 exit to Birmingham (E)/Sutton Coldfield.
At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Newport Road/A452.
Continue to follow A452 for 3.5miles.
Go through 1 roundabout.
At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Kingsbury Road/A38 for 1 mile.
Keep left at the fork.
At the Minworth Island roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Walmley Ash Road.
For final directions follow as for given for the M42 (above).

from M6 Toll

Take junction T3, take the A38 exit to Birmingham/Sutton Coldfield Toll road.
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A38 for 3.5 miles.
Go through 1 roundabout keeping on the A38.
At the Minworth Island roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Walmley Ash Road.
For final directions follow as for given for the M42 (see above).

Birmingham Cherry Picker Hire – FAQs

How does self-drive cherry picker hire work?

Simply register with us, book your machine, and collect it from one of our depots. If you’re using our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), you’ll need your driving licence and National Insurance number. One of our engineers will walk you through a full handover before you hit the road.

Do you offer one-day or overnight hire?

Yes. You can hire for a single day (7:30am–5:30pm), or choose a 24-hour slot via PM collection (5:00pm) or AM return (7:00am) — perfect if you just need it overnight.

How much does it cost to hire a self-drive cherry picker?

Our self-drive cherry picker hire starts from £130 per day using your own insurance. If you’d like to use our CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) cover, this adds £47 per day (£65 for the S27).

What sizes of self-drive cherry pickers do you offer?

We offer a range of machines from 10m to 27m. With different platform styles and boom configurations, we’ll help match you with the right unit for the job.

Can I return in the morning or collect in the evening?

Yes. We offer AM returns (7:00am) and PM collections (5:00pm). This gives you up to 24 hours on-site without paying for an extra day — but we do recommend booking in advance as these slots can get taken.
