All of our truck-mounted cherry pickers are under 3.5 tonnes, meaning they can be driven on a standard UK licence. That means you can pick up from our Southampton branch and head straight to site — no waiting on deliveries, no multi-day minimums. Just efficient, expert access when you need it. Our depot is close to the M27 and A33, making it an ideal launch point for local and regional jobs.

from Jct 5 of M27 (from West)

Take 3rd exit of roundabout onto Stoneham Lane, past Eastleigh Football Club.
Straight over the 2 roundabouts on Stoneham Lane.
Take 2nd exit (3rd roundabout) onto Chestnut Ave and then the first exit of the next roundabout onto Passfield Ave.
Keep on Passfield Ave, past the leisure centre and Holiday Inn until you get to Woodside Ave.
Take 3rd exit off the roundabout (one after B&Q entrance) into Parham Drive industrial estate.
Follow the one way system round the back of the estate to the far corner and the Southampton depot.

from Jct 5 of M27 (from East)

Exit M3, take 2nd exit off roundabout onto Allbrook Way, down the hill and then the 3rd exit onto Woodside Ave.
Follow Woodside Ave past Crestwood School to the roundabout by B&Q.
Take 2nd exit off the roundabout (one after B&Q entrance) into Parham Drive industrial estate.
Follow the one way system round the back of the estate to the far corner and the Southampton depot.

from Jct 13 of M3

Exit M3, turn right onto Leigh Road, past Hampshire & IOW Fire and Police HQ and
Take a left at the junction onto Woodside Ave.
Take 3rd exit off the roundabout (one after B&Q entrance) into Parham Drive industrial estate.
Follow the one way system round the back of the estate to the far corner and the Southampton depot.

Southampton Cherry Picker Hire – FAQs

How does self-drive cherry picker hire work?

Simply register with us, book your machine, and collect it from one of our depots. If you’re using our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), you’ll need your driving licence and National Insurance number. One of our engineers will walk you through a full handover before you hit the road.

Do you offer one-day or overnight hire?

Yes. You can hire for a single day (7:30am–5:30pm), or choose a 24-hour slot via PM collection (5:00pm) or AM return (7:00am) — perfect if you just need it overnight.

How much does it cost to hire a self-drive cherry picker?

Our self-drive cherry picker hire starts from £130 per day using your own insurance. If you’d like to use our CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) cover, this adds £47 per day (£65 for the S27).

What sizes of self-drive cherry pickers do you offer?

We offer a range of machines from 10m to 27m. With different platform styles and boom configurations, we’ll help match you with the right unit for the job.

Can I return in the morning or collect in the evening?

Yes. We offer AM returns (7:00am) and PM collections (5:00pm). This gives you up to 24 hours on-site without paying for an extra day — but we do recommend booking in advance as these slots can get taken.
