What are the depot opening times?
Monday – Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm
Saturday & Sunday – Closed
Is a 1 day hire 24 hours?
No, a one day hire is available during the depot open times. However if you need the truck longer, but also want to avoid being charged for a 2 day hire, then remember you can add either AM return or PM collect for only an additional £40.
Do we have to take smart platforms Collision Damage Waiver?
No, if you have fully comprehensive cover for any motor vehicle and can provide a copy of your insurance certificate before the hire, you can hire without our CDW cover.
What does the driver need to bring with them?
If using our CDW, they need to bring UK/EU driving licence photo card. They will also need to bring the DVLA code for sharing licence details online or their NI number. To get your code click here to link to the DVLA website
Drivers with a Northern Ireland, DVA issued licence will also need to show a copy of their paper counterpart.
Do you provide harnesses?
No, as they are PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). Standard harnesses can be purchased for £69.95 plus VAT click here
What breakdown cover does smart platforms offer?
You can call us 24/7 for phone support from a smart platforms engineer if you experience a breakdown or technical difficulty with the machine you have hired. Should you need an engineer to attend site to assist you, then engineer breakdown cover is restricted to a 100-mile radius of the nearest depot (mainland UK only) except with prior agreement in writing.
