Safe Working Loads

The majority of our machines operate with a 200kg (31.5 stone) safe working load (the exceptions being the Z26 with 230kg (36.2 stone) and S26j at 350kg (55.1 stone)). This works on the principle of 2 average weight people (weighing 80kgs each) with a 40kg capacity for tools or materials. Smart accept no liability for the inability to do complete jobs by the client if platform’s basket has been loaded above this level.

It should also be noted that our machines are designed as platforms for people to work at height with light loads and should, under no circumstances be used as materials hoists. Any infringement of this will be placing the vehicle out of it’s designed parameters and other than potentially damaging the machine will place yourselves, and anyone in proximity of the machine in grave danger. If Smart are made aware of this abuse then the machine will immediately confiscated, the HSE, relevant trade bodies and potentially the police will be notified.
